PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical machine for burning off the hair of a pig's foot, capable of completely burning off not only the hair of the skin of the pig's foot but also the hair between the fore hoof and the hind hoof, and the hair in folds at the lower side of the hind hoof, so as not to require the manual retreatment of the remaining hair at the final step, although the hair-burning step of the pig's foot is usually carried out by burning the hair by using a torch-type gas burner or by using a gas burner and a horizontal net conveyor. SOLUTION: The hair-burning is achieved by arranging the flame of a flame burner 6 at the position at which the effects on opening the hoofs are maximum based on the pig's foot 8 in a pig's foot bucket 1 attached to a vertical endless chain conveyor 2 for the pig's foot to completely burn the remaining hair after opening the hoofs of the pig's foot 8 most. The burning of the hair is carried out by continuously rotating the pig's foot in the bucket with a flame burner 7 capable of uniformly irradiating the pig's foot with the flame by two rotary shafts of an upper shaft 15 and lower shaft 14 for rotation, having protruded rods to provide a product having good quality without the remaining hair in the machine for burning off the hair of the pig's foot.
