Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a visible light responsive type photocatalyst of high capacity reacting over a wide visible light region and capable of being simply mass-produced. SOLUTION: A metal titanium powder or metal titanium sponge is used as a start material to prepare titanium powder, and this titanium powder and sulfur powder are mixed while controlling the intrusion of air and the resulting mixture is heated at 350-500°C in a container to perform the reaction of Ti and S prior to reacting with oxygen.
