Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throttle body in which resolution in controlling intake flow in a narrow-travel region is enhanced without providing a clearance in consideration of interference at the time of rotation even in the case of a valve body in which a valve-travel control face is formed. SOLUTION: The throttle body 10 includes a bore 31 in which an intake path 35 is formed, and a valve body 11 provided rotatably in the bore 31 for opening/closing the intake path 35. The valve body 11 is molded of a resin and its outside periphery 12 is formed in the shape of an oblique surface radially extending in the direction to open the valve body 11. The valve-travel control face 13 is molded as an extension face of the outside periphery 12 in the direction reverse to the direction to open the valve body 11. The bore 31 is molded with the valve body 11 inserted in it. A valve sealing face 32 in the bore 31 is formed as a molded face projecting from an inner wall face 33 at the time of full close of the valve body 11. Intake flow allowed to pass through the intake path 35 is controlled by the outside peripheral end 12 and the valve-travel control face 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
