Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical knife for incising a biotissue such as an eyeball, not only providing different incising widths but also sequentially and surely providing an intended incising width. SOLUTION: A blade part 3 of this medical knife is provided with an edge incising part 6 extending from a point part 4 to the side of a base end 5, an edge incising width retaining part 8 extending from an edge boundary part 7 of the edge incising part 6 to the side of the base end 5 and an intermediate incising part 10 extending from an intermediate boundary part 9 of the edge incising width retaining part 8 to the side of the base end part 5. When the edge incising part 6 is pushed into the eyeball in using and an incising opening of the eyeball incised by the edge incising part 6 reaches the edge incising width retaining part 8 from the edge incising part 6, this medical knife senses the reduction in an incising resistance to stop the insertion of the blade part 3, and the incising width inciseable by the edge incising part 6 reaches the maximum to prevent the incised opening from getting wider than its incising width. Then, when the incised opening reaches the intermediate incising part 10 from the edge incising width retaining part 8, the incised opening is incised further by the intermediate incising part 10.
