Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air sterilizing/deodorizing unit having a simple structure, being miniaturized, having high sterilizing/deodorizing performances, and having a decomposition performance of ozone used for the sterilization/deodorization. SOLUTION: This unit is so formed that a photocatalyst material composed of anatase-based titanium oxide with a primary grain size of less than 20 nm distributedly carries composite photocatalyst fine particle materials, which are obtained by partially fixing metallic silver of 0.03-5 wt.% of the titanium oxide with the grain size of 10 nm or less, on filters 4a and 4b by 1g or more per surface area of 1m2, the filters 4a and 4b are oppositely disposed in a route 21 for passing air at a predetermined interval apart, the space between the filters 4a and 4b is disposed with a discharge lamp 5 emitting ultraviolet rays with the wavelength of 280 nm or less and the intensity of the ultraviolet rays on the surface of the filters 4a and 4b is set to 0.5 mW/cm2or more.
