Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of giving a good image which is nearly free of image defects such as black spots and fog, and to provide an electrophotographic apparatus. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer on a support, wherein the photosensitive layer contains a block copolymer which has a hydrophobic block segment and a hydrophilic block segment and in which a backbone has an alkenyl ether structure. The electrophotographic apparatus comprises such an electrophotographic photoreceptor 1; a charging device 3 for charging the electrophotographic photoreceptor; an exposure device 4 for exposing the electrophotographic photoreceptor charged by the charging device to form an electrostatic latent image; a developing device 5 for developing the electrostatic latent image formed on the electrophotographic photoreceptor with toner; and a transfer device 6 for transferring a toner image developed by the developing device onto a transfer member.
