Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent electrostatic hazard in gravure printing paper and increase whiteness of the paper. SOLUTION: The gravure printing paper has a coat layer containing a pigment composed of calcium carbonate having 0.5-2.5 μm average particle diameter, an SBR emulsion resin to which 4-8 pts.wt. nonionic activator is added to a solid content of SBR emulsion and inorganic salt. As a result, the gravure printing paper has physical properties of 4% to 6% water content and 5.0×109Ω to 2.0×1011Ω surface resistivity under conditions of 23°C and 50%RH.
