Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broad antireflection film with which a sheet of a large size having excellent uniformity of the film free of unevenness can be obtained, and to provide a polarizing plate and an image display device. SOLUTION: The antireflection film has a low refractive index layer formed by applying a coating liquid containing five components of at least A (fluorine-substituted alkyl group-containing hollow spherical particulates which have shell layers, are internally porous or cavities, and are obtained by using a fluorine-substituted alkyl group-containing silane compound at the time of forming nuclei or shells), B (a binder), C (a surfactant), D (a silane coupling agent) and E (an organic solvent) directly or indirectly on a transparent film and subjecting the coating to drying and curing treatments.
