Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a wrong light-on in order to display an image accurately by solving the problem that regarding sustaining discharge of a plasma display apparatus, although sustain discharge is performed by discriminating a light-on cell and a light-off cell using discharging phenomena when a reverse voltage is applied by providing a wall charge with addressing discharge, the cell to be light-on is not on and the cell to be light-off is on, since discharge characteristics changes due to change of temperature and internal gas pressure or the like. SOLUTION: The number of pixels which address to a panel 5 is counted by a pulse count circuit 7 and a pulse voltage is converted to a direct current voltage by an integrator comprising 11, 13 and 14 and a voltage which is proportional to a current pulse of the sustain discharge is generated in a current detector 10 and subtracted in the integrator. The voltage which is applied to the sustain discharge is controlled according to the subtraction result. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
