Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device capable of precisely determining a catalyst deterioration condition of oxidation catalyst provided in a continuous regeneration type diesel particulate filter. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device of a diesel engine is provided with the oxidation catalyst 26 for oxidizing exhaust gas component of the diesel engine by catalyst action and a DPF (filter) 25 provided on the downstream side of the oxidation catalyst 26 to catch PM included in exhaust gas. This device is provided with a forced regeneration means for regenerating the DPF 25 forcedly by post injection which delays fuel injection time, a temperature detection means for detecting temperature of the oxidation catalyst 26, an excessive heat temperature calculation means for calculating excessive heat temperature exceeding catalyst deterioration determining temperature for which temperature of the oxidation catalyst 26 to be detected is set in advance, an excess time integrating means for integrating weighted excess time in accordance with rise of excessive heat temperature detected for operation time, and a catalyst deterioration determining means for determining degree of catalyst deterioration in accordance with integrated excess time.
