Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer-clad stainless steel plate having an outer layer made of steel containing boron (B), which is optimal for a separator of a solid polymer type fuel cell. SOLUTION: (1) The multilayer-clad stainless steel plate for the separator of the solid polymer type fuel cell is formed by combining an inner layer made of stainless steel containing 0-0.3 mass% B, with the outer layer made of stainless steel containing 0.3-2.5 mass% B on one surface or both surfaces of the inner layer. (2) The method for manufacturing the multilayer-clad stainless steel plate for the separator of the solid polymer type fuel cell comprises the steps of: heating the above material for the clad steel plate to 1,000 to 1,200°C; rough-rolling it; subsequently hot-rolling it at a finishing temperature of 600°C or higher; and then cold-rolling it.
