Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for the aged who is variously restricted in a sphere of action by a staircase and difference in level owing to a muscle power decline of the legs to overcome the staircase and the difference in level easily and cheaply. SOLUTION: Even the aged with the muscle power decline can easily go up and down the staircase by having a stick 110 which expands and contracts with motive power and a footstool 120 in combination with the usual handrail. A user operates expansion and contraction switches 150 and 151 in the situation that the user mounts a foot on the footstool, grips an upper part of the stick by one hand and holds the handrail by the other hand so that the user can move the body in vertical directions.
