Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money discriminating device capable of restraining the enlargement of a frontage of a bill insertion port against a breaking act with a bar or the like. SOLUTION: Two reinforcing plates 8, 9 are arranged at the upper and lower sides inside a bill guide port and fixed to a frame 1, and the reinforcing plates 8, 9 are connected to each other to reinforce the frontage. One reinforcing plate is composed of a spring material. Consequently, even if external force to enlarge the frontage with the bar or the like is applied, the reinforcing plate 9 is deformed but recovered into original shape when external force is gone, so that the enlargement of the frontage can be restrained to improve anti-theft performance.
