Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a structure for achieving weight reduction while securing the durability of a roller bearing unit as well as the intensity of an outer ring 1, and for accurately finding the load of the outer ring 1 acting on a hub 11. SOLUTION: Vibrations occurring in keeping with the revolutions of rolling elements 8a and 8b forming two rows are detected by a pair of vibration sensors 19a and 19b placed on a peripheral surface of the outer ring 1. A computing unit finds the revolution velocities of the two rows of rolling elements 8a and 8b based on the frequencies of these vibrations to calculate the above load based on the revolution velocities. The weight of the outer ring 1 can be reduced since it is not necessary to form through holes such as mounting holes in the outer ring 1 for locating the vibration sensors 19a and 19b.
