Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a head search operation at the time of printing-start for a rolled print medium on which two or more die-cut labels continue in the conveying direction. SOLUTION: If the tip of position mark is detected (S31:YES) by the way of the roll sheet for the die-cut label being conveyed in turn to the conveying direction (S30), the tip of the die-cut label on which the position mark has been indicated can be grasped from the relative positional relationship between the tip of the position mark and the one of the die-cut label. Even if the tip of the position mark is detected (S31:Yes), when the conveying distance of the roll sheet for the die-cut label is judged to be longer than the length in the longitudinal direction of the die-cut label (S33:Yes), the probability that only the parting paper released from the die-cut label has been conveyed becomes large, then the roll sheet for the die-cut label is urged to be cut by making a label-cut LED blink prior to the printing-start (S35).
