Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly pressure-resistant ultrafiltration membrane unit capable of efficiently separating macromolecules and low molecules at a high speed in the synthesis process of chemical substances, or the like. SOLUTION: In order to give pressure resistance to the ultrafiltration membrane unit, a filter made of a metal, or the like, is mounted on the outer side of the ultrafiltration membrane and a mechanical structure is strengthened. The filter on the outer side is perforated so as to make liquid containing a low molecular compound which penetrates the ultrafiltration membrane penetrate. The liquid which passes through the filter on the outer side is led to an exit for penetrated liquid as filtrate. On the other hand, the liquid containing a large amount of macromolecules which do not penetrate the ultrafiltration membrane is led to an exit for non-penetrated liquid.
