Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque sensor for providing a bipolar-type output signal while reducing the effect of shaft eccentricity on the output signal. SOLUTION: In this torque sensor, first and second rotary shafts 1 and 2 are disposed on a common axis line L-L, and these rotary shafts 1 and 2 are coupled by means of a torsion bar 5 to detect torsional torque given between the rotary shafts 1 and 2. This sensor is equipped with a magnetic field generation means 6 for generating a magnetic field in a radial direction centering on the axis line L-L, a magnetic field changing means 30 for changing the direction and size of detection magnetic flux running from the generation means 6 along the axis line L-L according to relative rotation between the rotary shafts 1 and 2, and a magnetic sensor 15 for detecting the magnetic flux. The magnetic sensor 15 generates an output signal wherein its polarity changes according to the direction of the magnetic flux while its size changes according to the size of the magnetic flux.
