Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color separation circuit in a single plate color camera wherein smooth slanting lines can be obtained in a slanting line portion where a change of an R signal (or of a B signal) outputted from a solid-state image pickup device is remarkable but a change of a G signal is small. SOLUTION: The color separation circuit is provided with: a G-less region discrimination means for discriminating whether or not an attentional pixel is a G-less region wherein a G signal is small and only one of an R signal and a B signal is great; and a first selection means for selecting a plurality of chrominance signal components produced by a second correlative discrimination color separation processing means with respect to the attentional pixel if the attentional pixel is the G-less region, and for selecting a plurality of chrominance signal components produced by a first correlative discrimination color separation processing means with respect to the attentional pixel if the attentional pixel is not the G-less region.
