Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form pairs between a plurality of distributed volumes through remote operations from a management server, and manage its progress. SOLUTION: A management server 10 instructs each of host computers 20 and 30 to generate configuration definition files 23 and 33. Subsequently, the management server 10 instructs each of the host computers 20 and 30 to start HORCM instances 24 and 34. The generation of configuration definition files can be separated from the start of HORCM instances. In one mode, configuration definition files are generated and instances are started. In another mode, only configuration definition files are generated. In addition, in another mode, if specified conditions are established, HORCM instances are started.
