PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that visual recognition properties of a display device for notifying a driver of alert information is unfavorable, although a sonar system for a vehicle for detecting an obstacle such as a person or a guardrail near the vehicle of one's own and for notifying the driver of the information is already and widely known. SOLUTION: The external form of the display device is changed to a shape similar to that of the vehicle. A light emission element such as an LED or a lamp is installed on the identical part with that of an ultrasonic element installed on the vehicle of one's own. The ultrasonic element that has detected the obstacle outputs a signal to the light emission element disposed at the identical part of the display device, and the light emission element is turned on. For example, when the low obstacle exists in the rear and the left of the vehicle of one's own, the left and lower light emission element 5 is turned on. Because only the point where the obstacle exists is turned on, the driver can easily recognize the danger.
