Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplex heat exchanger having improved heat exchanging performance by reducing a dead space made by a joint means between a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger. SOLUTION: The duplex heat exchanger 1 comprises a first side plate 21 and a second side plate 31 for reinforcing a first radiator 2 and for reinforcing an outdoor heat exchanger 3, respectively, and first and second engaging plates 22, 32 provided in parallel thereto, respectively. The duplex heat exchanger 1 is assembled with the first engaging plate and the second engaging plate slid to enter into a gap 33 and a gap 23, respectively, while opposing an opening portion 25 between the first engaging plate 22 and the first side plate 21 to an opening portion 35 between the second engaging plate 32 and the second side plate 31. Thus, the dead space h between the first and second heat exchangers 2a, 3a is reduced to be about four times a plate thickness t of each side plate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
