Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desired recording result regardless of a change in use environment, without newly providing an environmental sensor etc. SOLUTION: This inkjet recording apparatus performs recording on a recording medium by using an inkjet recording head for ejecting ink, and has a preejection performing means for performing preejection wherein the ink is ejected without reference to the recording in the performance of the recording. In the inkjet recording apparatus, the preejections are performed a plurality of times by changing a standby time (S101-S104); an absolute moisture content is determined as information on the use environment from the standby time when a state of nonejection is brought; and an environmental section is determined (S105), so that the operating conditions of the recording apparatus can be controlled.
