Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation history information collecting method and an operation history information collecting apparatus the capacity of a storage device of which can be configured small in order to collect operation history information by calculating the similarity from pattern information of a television program group receptible at a point of time when a user carries out operations. SOLUTION: An EPG processing section 1 extracts EPG information and thereafter sequentially stores the EPG information to a storage device 3. Extract sections 4, 6 obtain a vector of each program on the basis of operation information from a history processing section 2, program information read from the storage device 3, and program information of other stations and supply the vector to a generation section 5. The generation section 5 generates the number of vectors equivalent to the number of combinations of received programs and gives the result to a searching section 8. The searching section 8 calculates the similarity of each vector of each history and gives the result to a discrimination section 7. The discrimination section 7 discriminates the operation history information in excess of a prescribed threshold value related to the similarity with respect to the received history to allow the history processing section 2 to sequentially store the information to the storage device 3.
