Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of performing the automatic setting of a network address when a plurality of routers are connected, without requiring technical knowledge or complicated setting operations. SOLUTION: A network address assigning apparatus in a router B (6) compares a network address acquired from Eth1 port of a router A (5) with a network address assigned to its own Eth1 port, and if the result of comparison is coincident, the assigning apparatus changes the network address and an IP address assigned to its own Eth1 port to addresses different from the previously assigned addresses. Also, the network address acquired from the Eth1 port of the router A (5) and a sub-net mask value are set for an Eth0 port. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
