Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically reduce a time and labor for drawing recognition, and to improve reliability. SOLUTION: This drawing editing device has: a dimension line extraction part 3 extracting a dimension line from an inputted image; a shape line extraction part extracting a shape line; and a character/symbol extraction part 5 extracting a character and a symbol. A drawing recognition integration control part 6 controls extraction procedures thereof and a procedure of confirmation/correction by a user, integrates extraction results of drawing information elements, and displays it on an external output device 9. Confirmation and correction input of display contents by the user is inputted to the drawing recognition integration control part 6. A recognition content confirmation/correction part 8 having a user interface function updates a character/symbol database 10 and a shape line/dimension line database 11 used when extracting the shape line/dimension line and the character/symbol, according to the user input.
