Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out a new possibility for generating a pulse current of high energy for a gas discharge pumping type radiation source using a simple circuit means for stable high voltage generation and reliable voltage resetting. SOLUTION: A charging circuit is an LC inversion charging circuit (2) which is connected to a DC voltage source (1) for supplying only a half of a high voltage (HV) required for gas discharging. The LC inversion charging circuit comprises capacitor banks (C1-C2), and the first capacitor (C1) is directly disposed parallel to the DC voltage source. The second capacitor (C2) contributes to the inversion re-charging of the first capacitor using a switch (S1) triggered by an over-saturation/charge inversion inductor (Lvi) for inversion-re-charging the first capacitor after simultaneous charging. Thus, a perfect high voltage required for discharging is obtained in the capacitor bank. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
