Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which a group of optical fibers are aligned with a narrow pitch in the direction of optical axes with high accuracy. SOLUTION: An optical module 100 includes; a group of grooves which consists of a plurality of V-shaped grooves 110 lined up regularly on a substrate 109; a group of optical fibers which consists of a plurality of optical fibers 120, each optical fiber being arranged in each groove of the group of grooves 110; and a positioning member 130 the one part of which is arranged on the V-shaped grooves 110 and on which the tip end of each of the optical fibers 120 is abutted for positioning the optical fibers 120 in the optical axis direction. The optical module 100 further includes a light source array 150 which consists of a plurality of laser diodes 152; and a lens element 140 which has a plurality of lens parts 142 which couple the respective laser diodes 152 to the respective optical fibers 120.
