Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyzer for molten metal chloride where the winding-up of depositions stored in the bottom part of an electrolytic cell is prevented, thus the reduction of current efficiency is suppressed. SOLUTION: The electrolyzer is provided with an electrolytic cell 1, and a first partition 6 and a second partition 7 sagging from the upper part of the electrolytic cell, and, by the electrolytic cell and the first partition, a storage chamber 8 is formed at the side of the second partition. Further, an electrolytic chamber 9 is formed at the side opposite to the second partition, and the side of the electrolytic chamber in the upper part of the electrolytic cell is provided with an gas exhaust nozzle. Also, the electrolytic chamber is provided with a cathode 12 and an anode 13, and a barrier 11 is arranged on the side of the storage chamber at the bottom part of the electrolytic cell.
