Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic device reduced in cost by minimizing the kinds of components. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic tripping device used in a circuit breaker comprises a coil 2 excited by a current carried to a contact part, and when an excessive load current is carried to the coil 2, the opening and closing mechanism part of the circuit breaker is driven to forcedly trip the contact part. The coil 2 comprises three single-layer coils 3a-3c differed in inside diameter, on each of which a conductive wire of the same diameter is spirally wound in one layer.
