Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve data transfer efficiency by avoiding the competition of data transfer paths when processing a plurality of independent data transfer in parallel. SOLUTION: Each of devices A-D is made to have a plurality of end points A1-A4, ..., D1-D4 connected to upstream side switches 1A-1D, respectively and on the basis of information relative to device connection states in the system and device functions acquired from the devices A-D and information relative to the end points, an optimal inter-device path in a tree structure is determined. The determined path information is written and set to the devices A-D and the end points used by arbiters 2A-2D are arbitrated, thereby dynamically changing the tree structure so that e.g. paths 7, 8 become valid. Thus, even when processing a plurality of independent data transfer in parallel, the independent data transfer paths 7, 8 are ensured to avoid the competition of the data transfer paths.
