Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of an uninterruptible power supply employing a secondary battery for storing power that a switch circuit must be connected in series with the secondary battery in order to protect it against overcharge because charge/discharge control is performed based on a time schedule. SOLUTION: The switch circuit can be eliminated by controlling the passing power of a converter to match the load power of an inverter or to deviate slightly therefrom and generating a PCS charge/discharge command such that a secondary battery is brought into zero current state or faint discharge state thereby preventing overcharge.
