PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an elevator device, and the elevator device capable of optimizing a transportation time and maximizing a transportation capacity while avoiding problems caused by the incorrect operation of a destination call control device. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the elevator device provided with an elevator cage EC for transporting passengers between stories of a building, comprises a process for inputting travel requests of the passengers by the destination call control device and booking them as destination calls by the destination call control device, and a process for determining an instantaneous load in the elevator cage by a load measuring device at a predetermined time. The method further proposes the operation of a bypass function when the instantaneous load is compared with a full load parameter and exceeds the full load parameter.
