Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single layer type electrophotographic photoconductor having good chargeability and sensitivity, excellent light resistance and durability and further having high stability of electrostatic properties even after a repeated copying processes, and to provide an electrophotographic method, an electrophotographic apparatus and a process cartridge for the electrophotographic apparatus. SOLUTION: In the single layer type electrophotographic photoconductor obtained by disposing a single photosensitive layer on a conductive support directly or by way of an intermediate layer, the photosensitive layer contains an azo compound shown by formula (1), wherein at least one of Cp1and Cp2is a coupler residue selected from formula (2), formula (3) and formula (4).
