Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel handling tool which has a relatively simple structure, can be divided into upper and lower parts, and can also lessen the possibility of wrong division manipulations. SOLUTION: The fuel handling tool 3 is so constituted that it has a structure which can be divided into an upper member 31 and a lower member 32, and they are combined by engaging a pin 345 at the lower end of a manipulation bar 311, with a gash 352 in a locking part 351 at the upper end of a manipulation bar 321 so that the pin 345 can be separated from the gash 352. This makes it possible to remove the divided upper member 31, even in the condition where the lower member 32 grips a fuel assembly 2 to be irradiated and will not hinder the movement of a crane for carrying the fuel assembly 2 to be irradiated.
