Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tundish for continuous casting and a continuous casting method using the tundish with which non-metallic inclusion brought in from a ladle can sufficiently be floated up and separated, especially, and the good quality can be kept even at an exchanging portion of the ladle. SOLUTION: At least two pieces of shut-out weirs 6 are arranged in the interval between a molten metal pouring part 4 for pouring the molten metal into the tundish 1 and molten metal flowing-out parts 5, and a first shut-out weir 6a is arranged at one side wall 8a side of the molten metal bath 12 in the tundish and can shut off molten metal flow in the upper part of the molten metal bath 12, and a second shut-off weir 6b is arranged at the other side wall 8b side of the molten metal bath 12 in the tundish and can shut off the molten metal stream in the upper part of the molten metal bath 12. In the lower side of the shut-off weirs 6 the molten metal can flow, and since the path of the molten metal stream 15U in the upper side of the molten metal bath 12 becomes long, the inclusion can sufficiently be floated up and separated.
