Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance vehicle detecting performance at night using a camera by enabling specification of a light spot position from an adjacent headlight to a distant tail lamp with high accuracy, and discriminating the headlight and the taillight from signal light, street light, and noise light from an automatic vending machine, etc. SOLUTION: The system includes an image input means for inputting forward images of a vehicle, and an image analysis means for analyzing the input images input in the above image input process. The image input means includes a means capable of photographing two or more images having different exposure amount.
