Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black toner having sufficient coloring degree and blackness degree, free from contamination of a base or sticking on a developing sleeve, having excellent safety and low temperature developing property, and suitable to be used for a two-component developing method by preparing an electrostatic charge developing toner having specified saturation magnetization, a titanium component and dynamic hardness, and to provide a method for forming an image. SOLUTION: In the toner containing at least a binder resin and a black colorant, the toner essentially comprising an electrostatic charge image developing toner having the following properties. The black colorant consists of a black iron oxide compound having 0.5 to 30 emu/g saturation magnetization σs and 10 to 45 wt.% titanium content in terms of Ti atoms with respect to Fe atoms. The dynamic hardness of the toner measured by a SHIMADZU Dynamic Ultra-Micro Hardness Tester (DUH-W201/W201S) is 3 to 11 (gf/μm2). COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
