Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a surveyed physical quantity as an original physical quantity by performing scaling conversion even if it is a discontinuous linear physical quantity. SOLUTION: This waveform recorder comprises a sensor 12 for detecting a suitable surveyed physical quantity in the form of an electric signal, an A/D conversion part 13 for taking in this as a digital data value, a memory 14 stored with the data value, an output part 16 for outputting the data value, and a central processing unit 19 for controlling the whole. The central processing unit is equipped with a scaling calculation means 20 for resetting a conversion ratio which is a physical quantity per unit electrical signal quantity and an offset value which is a corresponding physical quantity when no electrical signal exists as condition-by-condition conversion ratios and condition-by-condition offset values obtained by condition-classifying them on a size-by-size basis with respect to a threshold, and a waveform generation means 21 for substituting, on a condition-by-condition basis, the condition-by-condition conversion ratios and the condition-by-condition offset values into a proportional conversion formula including the conversion ratios and threshold to convert it into a noncontinuous linear physical quantity including points, with the whole of the physical quantity including points being outputted as a composite waveform.
