Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic lifting magnet crane device capable of preventing the occurrence of handing failure of a steel plate. SOLUTION: The automatic lifting magnet crane device comprises a plurality of electromagnets suspended from a main beam, a current supplying means supplying an excitation current to the electromagnets, a magnetic flux detecting means for detecting magnetic flux generated by the electromagnets, a hoisting/lowering means for hoisting/lowering the electromagnets, and a processing means for detecting the total thickness of the steel plates which the electromagnets attract, from the excitation current and the magnetic flux.
