Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply control system of the output port of a packet switch capable of improving the rise time of the packet switch with restrained power consumption of a system. SOLUTION: The power supply control system of the packet switch has a communication architecture constituted of a first layer using a protocol guaranteeing point-to-point data transfer, and a second layer provided on an upper level of the first layer using a protocol performing a packet routing function. The control system retains a protocol stack, and can independently control the power states of a plurality of ports each capable of having at least two power states, a power-saving state and a normal transferable state. In the first layer, routing information is extracted from the data in a valid state being confirmed through the verification against an input data error. Then, the power state in the first layer of the output port corresponding to the extracted routing information is changed from the power-saving state to the normal transferable state.
