SOLUTION: In the image forming system comprising at least a printer control unit 1 and a plotter unit 2 connected by a switch network 3, configuration information of the switching network 3 is stored in a configuration storage part 4 which each unit has before each unit shifts to a low power consumption mode and each unit returns to the stored configuration state when each unit is restored from the low power consumption mode.
