Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize wear when first and second motors are used as a main motor or a sub motor in an electric power steering device. SOLUTION: In this electric power steering device, first and second motors Ma, Mb are arranged on a steering torque transmission path, and one of them serves as a main motor actuating at the time of starting assist control, and the other serves as a sub motor actuating at the time of shortage of output of the main motor. A first control condition for using the first motor Ma as a main motor and the second motor Mb as the sub motor, and a second control condition for using the second motor Mb as a main motor and the first motor Ma as the sub motor, are made switchable by a switch means 43. First and second controls are alternately switched per start of the assist control, based on the number of cumulative start times of the first and second motors Ma, Mb stored in a storage means 41. This can avoid a specific motor from being continuously used as a main motor for a long time, and equalize wear of the first and second motors Ma, Mb to elongate their lifetimes.
