Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix converter system arranged to suppress an overvoltage being applied to a switch element, to reduce the size of a snubber circuit, or to delete the snubber circuit. SOLUTION: With regard to the mounting method of an LC filter, the distance between a capacitor and a switch element in the LC filter is set shorter than the distance between a reactor and the capacitor in the LC filter. In a large capacity system having such a module as the switch elements are separated for each output phase, capacitors of the LC filters are separated for each module and arranged closely or a small number of capacitors are arranged closely to the switch element. When the wiring inductance is decreased between the capacitor of the LC filter and the switch element, the filter substitutes for the snubber circuit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
