Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of water vapor without breaking an inner tube or an outer tube. SOLUTION: This exterior part 10 to be used for a muffler to eliminate exhaust noises in exhaust gas or for an exhaust filter device 9 to filter the exhaust gas is provided in an exhaust passage. It comprises the outer tube 12 having a center axis in approximate horizontal and a plurality of through-holes 12a formed in the lower part in axially spaced relation, the inner tube 14 storing a noise eliminator or a filter 11 and coaxially stored in the outer tube 12 at a space from the inner peripheral face of the outer tube 12, and a tubular fiber assembly 16 filled in a gap between the inner tube 14 and the outer tube 12. A cutout 16a is formed in the part corresponding to the through-holes 12a of the fiber assembly 16 continuously in the longitudinal direction of the outer tube 12 and the inner tube 14. On the cross section perpendicular to a center axis 16b of the tubular fiber assembly 16, the angle of a line between either side of the cutout 16a and the center axis 16b is a range of 15-120°.
