Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a control system of an electric power steering device provided with a plurality of motors. SOLUTION: This device is provided with first and second motors Ma and Mb at different positions on a steering torque transmission path for transmitting steering torque inputted into a steering handle to wheels. Based on the steering torque detected by a steering toque sensor St, an electronic control unit U controls current to be supplied to the first and second motors Ma and Mb. The electronic control unit U is provided with compensation means 42a and 42b for compensating the phase of the steering torque. By separately compensating gain and phase of the steering torque for each of the first and second motors Ma and Mb, even if assist torque of the first and second motors Ma and Mb is different in a torque transmission characteristic transmitted to the steering torque sensor St, stability of the control system of the device is enhanced, and excellent steering feeling close to a manual steering device can be obtained.
