Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for magnetic recording/reproducing, capable of recording/reproducing with a high signal quality by reducing the noise of a recording/reproducing signal caused by the auxiliary magnetic layer of a conventional magnetic recording/reproducing device using a perpendicular magnetic recording medium having the auxiliary magnetic layer, and to provide a magnetic head. SOLUTION: In the method for magnetic recording/reproducing on a perpendicular magnetic recording medium having an auxiliary magnetic layer, recording/reproducing are performed through the process of magnetizing the auxiliary magnetic layer in a predetermined direction before at least the recording and/or reproducing is carried out on the perpendicular magnetic recording medium.
