Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trash storage device capable of storing large amount of trash while suppressing increase of its size and collecting stored trash smoothly and to provide a trash collection system and an operation method for the system. SOLUTION: A charging port 21 and a discharge port 22 are provided in the vicinity of an end part on the upstream side and in an end part on the downstream side in a trash storage tank 20 provided in the trash storage device 4, respectively. An air introduction port 27 is provided in the vicinity of the discharge port 22. A push plate 30 movable in the direction of the upstream side or the downstream side is provided inside the trash storage tank 20. The trash charged through the charging port 21 is conveyed onto the downstream side by the push plate 30, is compressed, and is accumulated in large quantity in the trash storage tank 20.
