Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonization apparatus which can easily burn a carbonization gas, can simply be maintained, and can improve energy efficiency to save the energy. SOLUTION: This carbonization apparatus is characterized by comprising a carbonization oven 12 formed from a heat-insulating heat-resistant material, a carbonization chamber 20 disposed in the carbonization oven 12 and surrounded with a heat-resistant material, a combustion chamber 22 disposed in the neighborhood of the carbonization chamber 20, a carbonization gas takeout piping 38 for guiding the carbonization gas produced in the carbonization chamber 20 into the combustion chamber 22, and a carbonization gas combustion apparatus 40 for burning the carbonization gas flowing out from the carbonization gas takeout piping 38 into the combustion chamber 22. The carbonization chamber 20 is slidably loaded on a structural member in the carbonization oven 12.
