Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a seat ring from being damaged by reducing shearing stress at the corner part of a valve body, where a shape largely changes, without lowering a seal surface pressure. SOLUTION: In this butterfly valve, a rubber seat ring is disposed on the inner peripheral surface of the valve body having a cylindrical flow passage passed therethrough, and the opening/closing of the fluid passage is performed by bringing and separating the outer peripheral surface of a disk-like valve element pivoted on the inside of the valve body so as to be drivingly rotated from the outside into contact with and from the inner peripheral surface of the rubber seat ring. The rubber seat ring adhered while covering the inner peripheral surface and the flange connection face of the valve body is so formed that is not adhered to the valve body at those portions thereof corresponding to the inner peripheral surface of the valve body, where the shape largely changes, and the corner parts of the flange connection part.
