PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging display device which can change the relative position of an imaging part and a display part, and also control the imaging part and display part while considering whether an image is picked up in backlight environment and whether a display screen is observed. SOLUTION: The imaging display device 2 is equipped with an imaging part 16 which images a subject, a display part 18 which displays an image based upon image data obtained by the imaging part 16, and a control part 20 which controls the imaging part 16 and display part 18. The imaging part 16 and display part 18 are configured to shift in relative position. The imaging display device 2 has a backlight decision part 46 which decides whether the subject is imaged in a backlight state and a relative position detection part 42 which detects the relative positions of the imaging part 16 and display part 18. The control part 20 controls the imaging part 16 and/or display part 18 according to decision information by the backlight decision part 46 and detection information by the relative position detection part 42.
